Tara was a covert meditator and other forms of spiritual practice for many years before discovering Vipassana meditation in 2011. She discovered Jonathan Foust’s class through a friend to deal with both her son’s depression & anxiety, realizing it helped her own suffering as well. Tara is currently a mentor with Jonathan Foust’s Year of Living Mindfully Program (YLM), co-facilitating Jonathan Foust’s post-dharma talk Discussion Group, training to be a leader of Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) at Frederick Memorial Hospital and is finishing her Masters’ in Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching at the Maryland University of Integrative Health. Tara is an alumni of Jonathan Foust’s The Year of Living Mindfully.
Tara has attended IMCW day long and weekend retreats taught by Tara Brach, Jonathan Foust, Sharon Salzburg and Stan Eisenstein. Tara has also been part of the same Spiritual Friends Group for three years and co-leads another in her mentor role with YLM. She looks forward to her first weeklong silent meditation retreat through the YLM program this winter. Tara has been inspired by her formal and informal studies of self-compassion, positive psychology, functional medicine, Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, mindful eating, Vipassana meditation, Buddhist psychology and coaching for behavioral change to name a few. Tara is inspired to share her varied wisdom and help others find their own inner wisdom.
