This Month: Self-Compassion for Grief. Self-compassion can be hard even during the best of times, but grief can make it even easier to be hard on yourself. From “I’m doing this all wrong” to “why can’t I feel better,” our negative self talk can do real harm. Not to mention that we may have to take on roles we never expected. During this one hour workshop, learn the three principles of self-compassion, and how the specifically relate to grief.
Topics, time, and days of the week vary from month to month. The Meditation For Grief Workshop is open to people who are grieving the death of a loved one, are experiencing anticipatory grief and/or have a loved one on Hospice care. Facilitated By Heather Stang, author of Mindfulness & Grief.
Grief impacts your whole being—mind, body and spirit. This monthly meditation for grief class gives you the opportunity to unwind in a safe, supportive environment. Each month you will experience easy-to-do meditation and relaxation exercises designed to help you release physical tension, calm your mind, and reengage with your life after loss.
Classes may included meditation, deep relaxation, very gentle yoga, journaling and more. A brief discussion may occur, but sharing is optional. You do not need any prior meditation or fitness experience—this class is for beginners and beyond. All spiritual views welcome.
Mindfulness & Grief Meditations for home practice are available on our companion site, MindfulnessAndGrief.com.
