TIME DOES NOT HEAL OUR WOUNDS. IT IS WHAT WE DO WITH THE TIME THAT MATTERS…

Grief is a whole-person experience. It impacts our body, mind and spirit. Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Yoga for Grief empowers you to address the suffering that comes with grief. It will show you how to use your breath and body as a place of refuge when you need it, and as a space to engage in deep grief-work when the time is right.

  • Restore Your Aching Body
  • Calm Your Anxious Mind
  • Reconnect with Your Spirit
  • Reengage with Life After Loss

Each Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Yoga for Grief class will begin with a check-in and centering. You will then be led through a yoga experience designed for your grieving body – and for all physical abilities. After a period of deep relaxation there will be time for you to journal, and we will close with a sharing circle, in which participation is optional.

Weekly home practice will be based on the class theme and help you weave what you learn in class into your life. You do not need any yoga or fitness experience, and you will be invited to move at your own pace, both physically and emotionally. All spiritual beliefs are welcome and respected.

The Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Yoga for Grief program features a total of 23 hours of class time, including:

  • 8 weekly two-hour meetings
  • Weekly audio files for home practice
  • 1 special day-long retreat

This class is open to people who are experiencing grief related to the death of a family member, friend or colleague, or are anticipating a death in the near future. Please call Heather at 240-397-8080 if you have any questions about the Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Yoga for Grief program.
