Self-Compassion is the key to a happy and healthy life, yet in our culture it is so elusive. Fortunately, the practice of self-compassion can rewire your brain so that you can “tend and befriend" yourself - leading to a fuller, happier and healthier life.
In her book Self-Compassion: The Proven Power to be Kind to Yourself, author and researcher Kristen Neff unpacks the three core components of self-compassion: self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness. During this program, Heather Stang will lead you through select meditations from the book, and facilitate a group discussion that will support you in applying the principles from the book to your life "off the mat."
Participants are encouraged to read Part 1 prior to the first meeting, but it is not required. The book is segmented into five parts, which will be discussed on the following dates:
February 28 - Part 1
March 7 - Part 2
March 14 - Part 3
March 21 - Part 4
March 28 - Part 5
Snow Day if Needed: Thursday March 30th
