Self-Compassion is the key to a happy and healthy life, yet in our culture it is so elusive. Fortunately, the practice of self-compassion can rewire your brain so that you can “tend and befriend” yourself – leading to a fuller, happier and healthier life.
In her book Self-Compassion: The Proven Power to be Kind to Yourself, author and researcher Kristen Neff unpacks the three core components of self-compassion: self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness. During this program, Heather Stang will lead you through select meditations from the book, and facilitate a group discussion that will support you in applying the principles from the book to your life “off the mat.”
Participants are encouraged to read Part 1 prior to the first meeting, but it is not required. The book is segmented into five parts, which will be discussed on the following dates:
January 2 – Part 1
January 9 – Part 2
January 23 – Part 3
January 30 – Part 4
February 6 – Part 5
