This Month: Gentle Yoga & Relaxation for Grief. Grief leaves our body in shambles. In addition to the pain in our heart and knots in our stomach, our muscles can feel tense and on guard. Start the year off by taking care of your grieving body with gentle Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Yoga for Grief. Heather will coach you through gentle yet powerful stretches that will help you release tension and physical pain. It doesn’t matter if you are flexible (or not), and you do not need to be physically fit to benefit.
Topics, time, and days of the week vary from month to month. The Meditation For Grief Workshop is open to people who are grieving the death of a loved one, are experiencing anticipatory grief and/or have a loved one on Hospice care. Facilitated By Heather Stang, author of Mindfulness & Grief.
Grief impacts your whole being—mind, body and spirit. This monthly meditation for grief class gives you the opportunity to unwind in a safe, supportive environment. Each month you will experience easy-to-do meditation and relaxation exercises designed to help you release physical tension, calm your mind, and reengage with your life after loss.
Classes may included meditation, deep relaxation, very gentle yoga, journaling and more. A brief discussion may occur, but sharing is optional. You do not need any prior meditation or fitness experience—this class is for beginners and beyond. All spiritual views welcome.
