Jan is the Executive Director of Open Minds, Inc. an upcoming non-profit, which teaches communities in Western, MD mindfulness education through centering/breathing, mentoring, yoga, mindful eating, and nature-based activities. She started with a loose meditation practice about 13 years ago, but seriously started practicing when attending Naropa University for a Masters degree in Contemplative Education.

Jan grew up in Frederick County, MD and is a mom to Delia Ayn and works part time with Fox Haven Farms in Jefferson, MD. She also teaches mindful youth, family, and adult workshops.

Jan will be teaching the Mindfulness for Teens course at the Frederick Meditation Center beginning in April 2015. Stay tuned for details!
